Mission Sunday, 1999
At the end of Mass, we had a brief talk from the coordinator of our annual "Honduras Project." This project began in 1983 when one young parishioner, Mary Carter, visited Honduras as a pre-med student. She asked the parish for assistance and it has been responding ever since. Over 60 tons of supplies have been shipped to a hospital and orphanages. We sent a special shipment after the hurricane this past year. Mary became a doctor but has also had some tragedy over the last few years. She had cancer of the tongue, which resulted in an operation and treatments.
